Through the eyes of Swiss chef Laszlo Badet

GEORG JENSEN, a leading Danish design brand since its founding in 1904 and known as one of Scandinavia's leading brands, has welcomed Paris-based Swiss chef Laszlo Badet to its 2025 holiday campaign, celebrating the "aesthetics of hospitality" through heartfelt menus and gorgeous table settings that are imbued with Badet's sensibility and tradition.
“There is an art to hospitality,” says Paula Gerbase, Creative Director of Georg Jensen. “It’s not just about welcoming someone, it’s about sharing your space – cooking a meal, setting the table on beloved tableware, sharing your customs and culture. Inviting someone in this way is the most heartfelt gift of all.”
Laszlo began her career as a tailor, but now she has poured all her passion into cooking, pursuing food as an art form, valuing creativity and seasonal ingredients. For the Georg Jensen campaign, she has prepared a special menu themed on the flavors of her hometown. Starting with an appetizer of Tête de Moine cheese, followed by pears stewed in red wine, and her signature radishes, delicately cut like flowers.
Setting the table, however, requires even more planning. "I rehearse the meal in my mind beforehand so that my guests feel comfortable," says Laszlo. Her holiday table combines white porcelain and sterling silverware. It includes the 1918 Grape Bowl 283, with its delicate Art Nouveau decoration; 1936 cutlery with a hammered finish and beaded edging; plates from the Bernadotte series with fluted edges for a dignified look; and silver candle holders with linear patterns, designed by Sigvard Bernadotte in 1938.
As a host, Laszlo is also mindful of her appearance: she wears 18K gold Offspring earrings and a brooch, as well as an Orb Chain, one of five new silver accessories recently launched, designed to be worn as both a keychain and a personal accessory. Each piece is inspired by the artistic movements that have shaped the brand's history.
